Green Energy Balls - Recipe by Delphine Fortin

We have been working closely with Delphine Fortin, a French national currently living her dream in Chicago, USA! She creates simple, healthy recipes using mostly plant-based, gluten free and dairy free ingredients, to encourage people to cook delicious meals from scratch.

Del's Cooking Twist

We sent her a small bundle of our products, as we absolutely loved her cooking style and she couldn’t wait to get started on creating something amazing!

 Del decided to use our organic Clean Greens powder to create green superfood energy balls! Here’s what she thought of our super-green powder;

Neutral in flavour, with a slight earthy taste and hint of fruity sweetness, the blend is just perfect to add to your daily morning smoothies and smoothie bowls, or like here to your energy balls.”

To create these nutrient rich energy balls, she uses a mixture of nuts; dates and oats to help increase your energy for a prolonged amount of time. Dates are also the perfect natural and unprocessed sweetener to add to an energy ball recipe because it gives them the perfect amount of sweetness and makes them taste SO good.

Del has also used matcha powder and ground ginger in her recipe to incorporate even more healthy ingredients!

You will notice a kick of ginger, as it is known for its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.”

 Clean Greens Energy Balls

To finish off, she has used melted chocolate to drizzle over the top for added richness and to balance the flavours out with some chocolate bitterness…

Here’s the recipe in full for you to enjoy!

  • 200g pitted medjool dates
  • 200g raw cashews
  • 50g gluten free oats
  • 1 tbsp. melted coconut oil
  • 2 tsp. matcha powder
  • 1 tsp. Super U organic Clean Greens powder
  • 2 tsp. ground ginger
  • 3 tbs. melted vegan chocolate

  1. Soak the pitted dates in warm water for about 5 minutes and then drain.
  2. Pulse the oats and cashews in a food processor until they form a floury consistency. Add the dates, coconut oil, matcha, Clean Greens powder and ginger, and blend until everything has mixed together and forms a nice sticky dough.
  3. Roll the dough into equal sized balls and place on a sheet of baking paper.
  4. Melt the chocolate in the microwave and then drizzle over the energy balls.
  5. Place the balls in your fridge for an hour to set, then store in an airtight container in the fridge.

Your superfood energy balls will last up to 5 days in your fridge, so you may want to make some more in the meantime because they’ll be gone before you know it!!
