Why should I make my own smoothie? 🍌

Smoothies are a favourite drink for the health conscious, packing a whole load of nutrients into a convenient and portable drink. However, most store-bought smoothies are made with mostly fruit, giving them a very high sugar content. They're also expensive and tend to contain harmful ingredients such as artificial flavourings and preservatives to increase their shelf-life.

Making your own protein smoothie means you can choose exactly what goes in, using the best quality protein powder, a lower amount of fruit and using plant-based milk instead of dairy. Oh, if you're partial to a smoothie you'll save yourself a fortune too!

 

What is the best plant-based milk to use? 🥛

You can use any dairy-free milk alternative you like in this recipe - whichever is your favourite! Some of our favourite plant-based milks include rice milk, oat milk, coconut milk, cashew milk and almond milk.

MUSCLE PROTEIN SHAKE WITH BANANA & CHIA SEEDS RECIPE

| Serves 2 |

 

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 tbsp Muscle Protein powder
  • 50g gluten-free oats
  • 1 ripe banana
  • 1 tbsp nut butter
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds
  • 240ml plant-based milk
  • 1 handful ice cubes

 

METHOD: 

  1.  Add all the ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth, scraping down the sides as needed to ensure all ingredients are blended
  2. Serve in 2 long glasses and enjoy with a metal straw!
