Energy Protein Balls

Our Favourite Protein Balls

I have always been a snack person, which never used to be a good thing – as I would tend to snack on unhealthy foods in-between meals (meaning more and more BAD calories!!). However, there is absolutely nothing wrong with having healthy snacks throughout the day to keep you ticking for your lunch or tea. Whether you’re fancying something sweet or savoury, there is plenty of choice out there! I have written up our favourite protein ball recipes for you to try at home. They take no time at all to whip up and they’re an amazing source of energy instead of turning to an afternoon coffee in the office…

We love having them after a workout with a protein shake to boost our energy and get us on the road to recovery! They're a great source of protein, so perfect for a pre and post workout treat.

Trust me; they’re that tasty they will be gone in no time! So you might want to double up on these recipes…

Peanut Butter Protein Balls

These are the perfect little nutty snack and are so moreish!

  • 1tbsp Muscle Protein
  • 1 tbsp Melted Coconut Oil
  • 1 tbsp Peanut Butter (or any other nut butter you have in the cupboard)
  • 2 tbsp Chia Seeds
  • 80g Pitted Dates
  • 40g Walnuts
  • 40g Almonds

Place the Chia Seeds, Almonds and Walnuts into a food processor and blend until a powdery/floury consistency is formed. Then blend in the rest of the ingredients until a sticky dough like texture forms. Be patient though, you will probably need to get stuck in and move it around with your hands (as it likes to stick to the sides of your blender - and please turn the blender off before doing so!!!).

Finally, with your hands roll the mixture into individual balls and then in desiccated coconut - the mixture will make around 10 protein balls. Place in a container and store in the fridge (tastier when chilled!). You could always double up on the recipe because trust me... they'll be gone quick!

Cacao and Pistachio Protein Balls

These chocolate rich energy bites are perfect for anyone’s sweet tooth and will leave you feeling completely satisfied…

  • 1tbsp Muscle Protein
  • 80g Walnuts
  • 120g Pitted Dates
  • 1tbsp Cacao Powder
  • 1tsp Cinnamon
  • 1tbsp Melted Coconut Oil

Place the Walnuts in a food processor or blender and blend until a powdery consistency is formed. Then add the remaining ingredients and blend until a sticky dough is formed.

Roll the mixture into small individual balls and then roll them over crushed pistachios or cacao powder to give an extra dusting of heaven!!

Stick them in your fridge, as they taste the best once chilled. If you want to double up on this recipe or make enough for family and friends. They will last for up to one week or you can even put them in the freezer to save for another day.
